Bonnie Baker T.E.A.C.H. Memorial Scholarship FundEstablished 2011
Bonnie Baker, a retired colleague of the Children's Forum, our friend, and our conscience, was a special soul whose life ended much too soon. She was part of the Forum Family for 16 years and her legacy will always be a part of us.
A native of Champaign, Illinois, Bonnie moved to Tallahassee following high school graduation and lived here for more than 30 years before moving to Statesboro, Georgia in 2010. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Florida State University in Rehabilitation Counseling. She worked with the Easter Seals Foundation and the Leon Center for Independent Living before coming to the Children's Forum. In her time at the Forum, Bonnie served in various capacities including Director of the Child Care Resource and Referral statewide network, Chief Operating Officer, and Director of the Child Care Training and Information Center and Credential Unit.
To honor her memory, the Forum has established the Bonnie Baker T.E.A.C.H. Memorial Scholarship Fund and will receive memorial contributions on her behalf. The scholarship will assist child care practitioners who wish to earn a Bachelor degree in early care and education. Scholarship recipients will be chosen from an application process and announced annually.
